thanks for the info jim. yeah i always heard the 417-c was the one as well. and as far as i know, the only difference between the 417-c (i can't find any at the moment) and the 417-8h (i just found two for cheap!) is that the "C" model us 75w, whereas the "8H" model is 100w. do you happen to have any altec spec sheets or experience w/ the speakers? i'm wondering how the altec will handle a V4 on guitar or bass. and i'm wondering if there's any specific difference other than power rating between the altec 417 models.
