so you're saying that you've heard this cab loaded w/ original altecs being used for bass, and it sounded good? my biggest concern is whether the altec is considered a "full range" speaker or a "guitar" speaker. i know guys who have used their 300w standard marshall cabs for bass and fried the speakers after only a few hours. something about the voice coils heating up too much. i'd hate to drop $400+ on the altecs to find that i blow them after the first few practices playing bass through them. i'll email ted weber, that guy knows his shit. and i'll post his reply if i find it helpful.
