I've seen guys running an SVT with two of these cabs set up with the altecs, and thought it sounded pretty good. I have the same cab (and the same problem, hoping to make it do double duty.) The original speakers break up way early for bass, but the high powered speakers don't get driven nearly enough for guitar. The altecs sound like the way to go, IMO.
