The amp makes no noise. The power light comes on (it does flicker, but i've heard of this happening on other 30 year old ampegs quite a bit) but I don't get any noise, not even hiss, out of the amp.. maybe it could be a shorted tube? wouldn't all of the power tubes had to have failed to hear no noise whatsoever? anyways, thanks a bunch for that information richard.
